The Walking Clinic have been a Canberra institution since 1978, and boast four (4) clinics across Canberra. They have a perpetual attitude of excellence in foot health provision and their experienced Podiatric team provide the most up to date and innovative care available to their patients. It is this commitment to excellence that makes them a perfect partner for Capital Athletics - as we know that there will always be an ongoing commitment to teamwork and collective endeavour, in order to strive for the best possible results for all of our athletes.
The Walking Clinic podiatrists will play an active role in our education sessions for all of the Capital Athletics development pathway programs including but not limited to the Development Squad, the Emerging Athlete Program and the Target Talent Program.
The Canberra Physio Clinic, in collaboration with The Walking Clinic Podiatrists, was founded by Toby Conroy. With two convenient locations in Belconnen and Kingston, they are dedicated to providing the finest physiotherapy services to the Canberra community. Their team of experienced physiotherapists has a wealth of knowledge, having worked with various sporting teams, from elite national league level to junior representative programs, as well as individuals who enjoy recreational activities.
In addition to their commitment to the sporting realm, they are passionate about assisting everyday Canberrans in their recovery from injuries, managing chronic conditions, alleviating arthritic pain, supporting post-surgery rehabilitation, and helping individuals achieve their strength and conditioning goals. The Canberra Physio Clinic will be supporting our teams that we send to Nationals as well having naming rights to our ACT Combined Championships to be held in December as well as offering many benefits to our members.
As part of Capital Athletics partnership with The Walking Clinic, all members (Little Athletics ACT, Athletics ACT, ACT Masters athletes and officials) will receive the following benefits at any of The Walking Clinics and The Canberra Physio Clinics;
- 15% discount for all initial and subsequent podiatry and physiotherapy consultations
- Strength & Conditioning Screen undertaken by Physiotherapist or Podiatrist (1 hour) - $40 discount for initial consultaion and $15% off each subsequent consultation
- Running Assessment by Podiatrist or Sports Physiotherapist with running expertise - 15% discount on assessment
- Athletes will aslo have adolescent strength classes at a reduced rate
- Athlete Injury Risk Screening

Since the partnership with Coles began in September 2017, Coles has donated over 3.6 million bananas to Little Athletics Centres across Australia and $2 million worth of sports equipment to 421 Little Athletics centres through the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund. The ACT Government continues to be one of the largest supporters of community sport, including Capital Athletics, as well as our Centres and Clubs.
ACT Sport and Recreation supports programs to increase participation in social through to high performance sport in Canberra through infrastructure planning, athlete support, sector partnerships and capacity building programs to contribute to health, social and economic benefits.
Other areas of the ACT Government are also significant contributors to the ongoing sustainability and development of athletics within the ACT.

ACT Race and Fitness Walking Club holds summer and winter programs for all ages and abilities Whether you want to compete internationally or just keep fit, we would love to have you join our club. Our youngest members are 5 and our eldest into their 90s.

Canberra Runners (formerly YMCA Canberra Runners Club) is one of Canberra’s largest running organisations and offers events and activities for runners of all ages and abilities.
Through our partnership with Canberra Runners, we provide joint winter running events, share officials, share ideas and help to bolster the running community within the ACT and region.
