The Community Coach of the Month Award recognizes coaches who show dedication, leadership, positive role modeling, personal growth, and coaching excellence. Recipients are nominated by the Athletics community and selected by State Athletics Associations. Monthly winners receive rewards and are eligible for the Community Coach of the Year award.

Becoming an Accredited Athletics Coach is your first step to developing the skills and confidence required to assist your athletes to be their best. All our courses are engaging, educational, entertaining and are designed to give you a practical understanding of coaching Athletics at all levels of the sport.
Athletics Australia accredits coaches through a process that begins with attending either a Level 1 Youth Coach or Level 1 Recreational Running Coach course. These one-day courses offer a foundational introduction to coaching skills.
Overview of the Athletics Australia Coaching Framework
The coaching framework is designed to progressively introduce the coaching skills required to develop athletes from beginner to high performance. The skills delivered at each level are significant to that level of athlete. Those coaching beginner athletes are taught how to coach the fundamental movement skills of track and field, laying the foundation for further development of technical skills as the athlete and coach progress.

What are the benefits?
Benefits of Becoming an Accredited Athletics Coach, There are several advantages to becoming an accredited athletics coach, including gaining accreditation with the Australian Sports Commission through the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. Additionally, coaches will be eligible for to deliver athletics as part of the Sporting Schools initiative. You will also receive public liability insurance, products liability insurance, professional indemnity, and personal injury insurance. You also have the option of being added to Athletics Australia's national coach finder on their website.
