Little Athletics Teams Challenge

The U6-U8 Teams Challenge is a fun event where our youngest little athletes get the opportunity to participate in team events against little athletes from other Little Athletics Centres. Activities are based on game like activities that teach fundamental movements and motor skills. These activities involve competition but are done with modified rules and specifications to emphasise the focus on fun and participation rather than individual performance.

This event is based on the developmental age appropriate guidelines as set out by both Little Athletics Australia and Athletics Australia. These guidelines recognise that children are not small-scale adults, and that the performance of a child is not a clear indicator of future adult performance.

When

Sunday 13th February

Carnival check-in: 8:00am - 8:20am

Carnival Start: 8:30am - 10:00am (all age groups)

Ribbon presentation: 10:10am

*Note sessions have been condensed such that all age groups will commence at 8:30am.

Eligibility

Any Under 6, Under 7 or Under 8 Little Athlete who is registered with Little Athletics ACT is eligible to participate at this event.

Any athlete wishing to compete must register by 11:45pm on Wednesday 9th February. Please note there will be NO LATE ENTRIES TAKEN OR ANY ENTRIES ALLOWED ON THE DAY. Please make sure you complete 1 entry per athlete.
