Little Athletics ACT in conjunction with Cooma Athletics Little Athletics Centre are putting on a Development Day for the Southern Regional Centres including skills clinics, and a coaching course.
Any Little Athlete from Cooma, Bega Valley, Jindabyne or EuroCoast are encouraged to attend!
Expereinced and qualified coaches will be travelling from Canberra to run the skills clinics for the little athletes, with coaches from Cooma assisting in various events. An experienced facilitator will be running the coaching course for the adults.

Athlete Skills Clinic
When:
Saturday 7 November
Your child will get to involve themselves with three of the Little Athletics events across the course of the day, with the breakdown of rotations being able to be seen below. (pease note that the breakdown of the day is different to previously advertised based on current registrations).
Rotation #1: Sprints, Hurdles (U10 & under only), Triple Jump (U11 & over only) & High Jump (U11 & over only)
Rotation #2: Middle Distance, Hurdles, High Jump (U11 & under only), Long Jump & Javelin (U11 & over only)
Rotation #3: Discus and Shotput & Long Jump

9:00am - 9:15am - Sign in and welcome
9:15am-9:45am - Warm up
9:45am - 10:45am - Rotation #1
10:45am - 11:45am - Rotation #2
11:45am- 12:15pm - Snack Break
12:15pm - 1:15pm - Rotation #3
1:15pm - Lunch

Introduction to Little Athletics Events
At the conclusion of this course participarticipants will have a better understanding of anappropriate working model for each Little Athletics event, have a greater knowledge of appropriate drills, skills, games and activities for particular event groups, identify some of the more common technical faults of events, have a basic understanding of a simple coaching session and better understand how to organise a group safely.
