We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Competitions & Pathway Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering high-quality competitions, supporting state teams, and creating pathways for aspiring athletes.

The Role

This is not your typical desk job. The Competitions & Pathway Coordinator will be hands-on in the fast-paced world of athletics event management, ensuring seamless execution of competitions and logistics for state teams. The role is split across two key areas:

  • Competition Management – Assist in delivering our competition calendar, including major athletics events, ensuring smooth execution of races, jumps, and throws.

  • State Team Coordination – Support ACT’s best athletes in getting to national events, handling travel logistics, and ensuring they have everything they need to perform at their best.

From behind-the-scenes planning to on-the-ground problem-solving, this role demands energy, adaptability, and a passion for sport.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone who:

  • Thrives under pressure – You can think on your feet and keep things running smoothly at fast-moving events.

  • Is a problem solver – When challenges arise, you take initiative to find solutions.

  • Has strong communication skills – You’ll liaise with athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers, ensuring clear and effective messaging.

  • Has experience in sport or event operations – Backgrounds in sports administration, logistics, or event management are a plus.

  • Understands athletics – Whether as a competitor, coach, official, or volunteer, you have a connection to the sport and its community.
